» France » Île-de-France » Paris » How to get from the airport to Paris: RoissyBus coaches

When visiting Paris for the first time, you don’t want to begin your trip by struggling with a ticket machine or navigating multiple transfers. It’s much more pleasant to simply load your suitcase onto a bus, settle by the window, and arrive in the city center about an hour later. That’s exactly why RoissyBus was created — a direct shuttle between Charles de Gaulle Airport and Place de l’Opéra.

Final stop in Paris

The RoissyBus terminus is at Opéra Garnier, on Rue Scribe, right in the city center.

Nearby connections include:

  • Opéra metro station (lines 3, 7, and 8)
  • Auber RER station
  • Several bus routes for easy onward travel

How long does the journey take?

The average journey takes around 60 minutes, but travel time depends heavily on traffic conditions in Paris. It can be as quick as 45 minutes or as long as 90 minutes. To avoid stress, allow extra time for possible delays due to traffic jams.

Tips before traveling on the RoissyBus

  • Plan for traffic. During rush hours, the ride can take up to an hour and a half, so it’s best to leave early
  • Buy your ticket in advance. The most convenient options are the Bonjour RATP app, ticket machines, or the Navigo Easy card
  • Use travel passes. Both Paris Visite and Navigo Semaine passes are valid on RoissyBus – this can save you both money and time
  • Board through the front door only. You must show your ticket or travel pass to the driver, validate it, and keep it until the end of your journey
  • Find the right stops. At CDG, the bus serves all terminals. In Paris, the final stop is at the Opéra Garnier
  • Luggage-friendly. The bus has dedicated shelves for suitcases
  • Travel comfortably. The coaches are equipped with soft seats, air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, and power outlets for charging devices
  • Consider onward travel. From Opéra, it’s easy to transfer to several metro and RER lines to reach any area of Paris quickly

If you are heading beyond Paris, remember that the airport has its own railway station with both RER and TGV trains. The RER B train is a faster and cheaper way to reach Paris, while from Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 2 station you can conveniently travel to cities like Lyon, Lille, or Brussels.
