Bastille Day
14 July is France’s National Holiday, Bastille Day. Tourists can enjoy the parade on the Champs-Élysées, a concert at the Champ de Mars, a stunning half-hour fireworks display at the Eiffel Tower, and many other paid and free attractions. For example, on France’s national holiday, museums are free to enter — even the Louvre. If you want to take advantage of this opportunity, be prepared for long queues!
If you plan to see the evening light show, it’s best to book a hotel near the Eiffel Tower, in the 7th or 8th arrondissements, so that you can walk there. All public transport will be overcrowded that night.
