What to do in Paris in June?

Paris in June is all about strolling through the warm summer city. Sometimes it rains, and even the Seine floods, but that doesn’t stop locals and tourists from enjoying their holidays. If you’re visiting in June, be sure to take a riverboat ride. Stroll along the embankments and parks, visit the Luxembourg Gardens, and have a picnic in the Bois de Boulogne.

Choose a hotel in the city center

Summer is the perfect time to enjoy the outdoor terraces of French restaurants. Have a coffee on the street or try ice cream at the famous Berthillon café. And, of course, June is a great time for excursions, whether it’s a trip on a double-decker open-top bus or a private tour.

Hurry and visit all the places popular with children before the school holidays begin. You can find a list of them in our article. If you want to visit Disneyland and Asterix amusement parks, it’s best to do so before 20 June. After that, Parisian children will completely take over these destinations. It’s better to buy tickets in advance. Follow this link for a Disneyland pass with transfer, and this link for Asterix.

Events in Paris in June

White Night Festival

This unusual art festival usually takes place in October, but this year it is scheduled for 1 June. Nuit Blanche (White Night) is an annual event during which hundreds of attractions – including museums, galleries, and monuments – remain open all night. In addition, musicians and actors perform throughout the city, and striking installations are set up. All of Paris stays awake, walks, and celebrates on this night.

Roland Garros Final

The Grand Slam tennis tournament begins in May, but the most exciting matches happen in early summer. The final in 2025 is scheduled for 8 June.

Nocturnes

Nocturnes are evening events in the cultural life of Paris. They usually take place on Thursdays in museums after 6 p.m. These aren’t ordinary exhibitions but engaging performances and workshops. An orchestra might be invited to play, or you might learn how to photograph the Louvre or create modern art on Twitter.

Don’t miss the most anticipated exhibitions of the year in June! Save on entertainment with the Paris Museum Pass, which offers free admission to 60 museums and attractions in Paris. You can order it at this link.

Music Festival

Every year on 21 June, the city comes alive with music. The festival takes place throughout the country, but nowhere is it louder than in Paris. On this day, musicians can be found at every turn, on every corner and intersection. Museums and concert halls offer special programmes. For example, sitting on the floor in the Louvre’s foyer, you can listen to the Paris Symphony Orchestra, while the museum on Quai Branly resonates with African rhythms. As day turns to night, the centre of celebration shifts to the bars near Place de la Bastille.

Golden Ball over the Tuileries

From 21 June, a golden ball – the symbol of the 2024 Olympic Games – reappears in the sky above the Tuileries Garden. It’s raised every summer as a new tradition: a light balloon with no stands or fanfare, but with the same celebratory meaning. It’s a beautiful installation and a unique sight for those strolling through central Paris.
