Disneyland Paris: ticket prices

A ticket to Disneyland Paris is often called a ticket to a fairy tale. That’s because all fifty-plus attractions inside are free once you’re in. You pay for admission, and then you can ride as much as you like, on whatever you like.

You cannot pay at the entrance; tickets must be booked online in advance.

How to choose a ticket to Disneyland?

Before booking any ticket, it’s a good idea to plan your holiday. So, what do you need to consider?

  • How many days do you want to spend in the park?
  • Which part of the park will you visit (if you only have one day)? Will the forty attractions of the main Disneyland park be enough, or do you also want to meet characters from the Marvel universe?
  • Finally, choose a date

There are fewer visitors on weekdays, while the programme is more intense on weekends. On holidays such as Christmas or Halloween, Disney characters perform themed shows.

Attractions and entertainment at Disneyland Paris

Disneyland Paris is a sea of entertainment. Each year brings new attractions, and each month sees the debut of new shows. With the growing popularity of new animated films, entire new areas appear in the park.

Main Street USA is the central axis of the park, built in the style of an American town at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The highlight is the narrow-gauge railway. This street also offers many restaurants and souvenir shops. The daily parade of Disney characters takes place here.

Fantasyland recreates scenes from classic fairy tales. You’ll find Sleeping Beauty’s castle, the dragon’s cave, Alice’s maze, and other themed attractions like Sir Lancelot’s carousel. Disney princesses and princes live here, along with Mickey and Minnie Mouse, characters from DuckTales, Tom and Jerry, and other beloved cartoons.

Adventureland features the abandoned temple from Indiana Jones and the ship and attractions from Pirates of the Caribbean. Interestingly, these park features inspired the films – not the other way around!

Discoveryland represents the future as imagined by science fiction writers. Attractions are done in a retro-futuristic style inspired by Jules Verne and George Lucas’ Star Wars spaceships.

Frontierland is Disneyland’s version of the Wild West: cowboys, Indigenous tribes, steamboats, and a haunted mansion. The most famous attraction here is the Thunder Mountain roller coaster.

Walt Disney Studios is the second park within Disneyland Paris. It features attractions based on Pixar films and the Marvel universe. The scariest and newest rides are located here.

Disney Village is a town situated between the two parks. It offers restaurants, souvenir shops, discos, and hotels. Its main attraction? A hot air balloon ride over the magical landscape.

There are also concert venues scattered between the attractions. When you’ve had your fill of rides, you can enjoy live performances featuring your favourite characters. The main show – a highlight for every visitor – takes place each evening in front of Sleeping Beauty’s castle. The day ends with a fireworks display.

Why is it worth visiting Disneyland Paris?

If you’re asking this question, perhaps it’s not the right time. But millions of families with children – and even childless couples – spend the year wondering when they’ll next visit Disneyland.

The need for the trip is rarely questioned. Disneyland parks are like an annex to childhood: a world of fantasy, familiar characters, and endless roller coaster and carousel rides.

The attractions are designed for various age groups, and many are thrilling for adults too. Behind the scenes, all machinery and logistics are carefully hidden to preserve the feeling of magic.

If you’re looking for a more French experience, consider visiting Parc Astérix near Paris. You can spend a full day enjoying rides there, too, but the park is based on the iconic French comics about Astérix and Obélix.

The second most visited amusement park in Europe is Europa-Park in Germany, located in the small town of Rust, near the French border. The main drawback of Europa-Park compared to Disneyland is transport accessibility. It’s quite far from major German cities – over two hours by public transport from Strasbourg, and about an hour by car.

Is it worth going to Disneyland? Of course it is!

Have fun!
